The service
Hosting for documents you publish, served at links whose access you control. There is no guaranteed uptime, no support commitment, and no promise that any feature will still exist in a year.
Your account
You are responsible for your credentials. API keys are shown once and can be revoked at any time; a compromised key is your cue to revoke it, not ours to detect.
Your content
It stays yours. Publishing grants the operator only what is needed to store and serve it. The operator does not use published content for training, does not sell it, and does not share it with anyone but the readers you gave links to.
What you may not publish
- Content that is illegal where the deployment runs.
- Malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to deceive a reader about who is asking.
- Someone else's material you have no right to publish.
- Content that harasses or endangers a person.
Abuse
Abuse handling belongs to whoever runs the deployment. Reports go to hello@botook.ai, and the remedies are the ordinary ones: remove the content, revoke the credential, close the account.
Limits
Rate limits and size ceilings exist to keep the service usable. Working around them programmatically is a reason to lose access; asking for a higher limit — or raising it in your own deployment's config — is not.
Availability
Provided as-is. Expiry deletes content permanently and by design, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot lose.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data or lost business. This is free software run at your own risk.
Termination
You can delete your account whenever you want; deletion removes records and stored objects together. The operator may close an account that breaks these terms.
Change
Terms can change. Material changes are noted in the changelog, and continuing to use the service after a change means you agree to the new version.
Self-hosting
Running your own deployment puts you in the operator's seat, with the obligations that come with it — see self-host and the licence in the repository.
Privacy
Covered separately in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
